Premises:

All ethical arguments in Five Categories Theory proceed logically from just two underlying precepts:

1. Positive emotions cause enjoyment and negative emotions cause suffering; enjoyment is good and suffering is bad.

2. The observable universe is scientific, meaning all effects have physical causes.

Precept 1 is self-evident; precept 2 is a precept of all scientific theories.  Precept 1 is the core of ethics; Precept 2 is the core of reason.
